final battle -- day 114
last night got an email from Hawaii, they asked me to substitute one time slot for presenting one of my Messiaen papers . . . within a second of thought, i replied and declined this offer . . . because i don’t have much $$$ to travel to Hawaii both from myself and from Mus Dept, and I do need to concentrate more on my dissertation writing . . . Although it is a good chance to meet another important circle of Messiaen scholars there, i just can’t ignore my many constraints and fly (even though the paper is ready for presentation) . . .
The goal now is to finish dissertation asap, i.e. get my PhD and find a job . . .
anyway, this is a very good blessing already, whether or not the organizer read my name from the Boston conference or my name is on top of the waiting list . . . it doesn’t matter
